We’re a small team of filmmakers, adventure seekers, and hopeless romantics who are thrilled you found us. Over the past decade we’ve filmed 300+ weddings around the world and earned 60+ five-star Google reviews. We pour our hearts into every film because we know how fast life moves and how precious these memories are.
Our Story
Sun Beat Films is owned and operated by Britt and Miah Idema — a husband-and-wife film duo based in Maui, Hawaii. We believe there’s few things better in life than an epic wedding celebration that honors your love and commitment to living this beautiful, crazy life together.
In 2018 we gathered 60 of our friends and family in Costa Rica, rented a beachfront property, surfed by day and partied by night, and became officially husband-and-wife. That week remains the best week of our lives and taught us the value of investing in your wedding celebration.
Now, after eight years of marriage and raising two kids together,
we don’t regret a single moment or detail from our wedding. Our wedding video brings all the feelings back as if it was only yesterday, and reminds us of the commitment, love and joy we felt. Before the kids, before all the pressure and responsibilities, it was just us.
Today, we continue to make films that help couples hold on to the feeling of that day — real, unforgettable, and always one-of-a-kind.

You'll spend a lot of the day with your photo and video team, so chemistry matters. We aim to feel like old friends: easing stress, keeping things light, and letting the day unfold naturally. All films are edited in-house at our Maui studio to ensure every project gets personal attention and our creative touch.
